New Medicine discovery for Covid-19

Will the Medication work??

Researchers in London are performing studies to figure out if traditional pain reliever and anti- inflammatory Ibuprofen will help stabilize Covid-19 victims and hold them away from catastrophic respiratory distress and the need for ventilators, Bloomberg news agency published.

A group of scientists from Guy's Hospital in London, St Thomas' Hospital and King's College are undertaking a review to see if Ibuprofen should be used by coronavirus victims with analgesic and anti-inflammatory medications. With about 180 countries around the globe dealing with the Covid-19 disease outbreak in the midst of rising fatalities, scientists and researchers are hoping that low-cost care can be given.

The research represents a form of Ibuprofen called Flarin that is available in the United Kingdom and has a different structure than the regular version to safeguard the stomach. The study is being conducted by Guy's and St. Thomas' SLIM Foundation Trust, King's College London.

If the clinical study is successful, it could mark a transformation in medication attitudes during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research, Liberate, was initiated after laboratory tests revealed that the drug may be used to combat acute respiratory distress syndrome — one of the problems associated with Covid-19 disease.

The experiment would be randomized, with half of the participants getting regular treatment of their own with the other half getting prescription medications. The first half, that will be provided with normal treatment, will continue to consume oxygen as well and will be provided with that

Is the Medication Safe??

At the height of the pandemic in the United Kingdom, health authorities posed questions as to whether individuals with moderate coronavirus symptoms could use the anti-inflammatory medication. Following this, in March, the United Kingdom's National Health Service ( NHS) revoked the recommendation they had provided on their webpage about the usage of Ibuprofen for people suffering from moderate cases of Covid-19

French Health Minister Olivier Veran also said March that sufferers with Covid-19 should minimize anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen because they might worsen their infectious diseases. Shortly thereafter, Europe's top drug regulator said that there is no concrete proof that Ibuprofen tends to make the virus even worst.
