Augmented Reality and Virtual Mirrors in Beauty Industry!!!!

Augmented reality is a real-world, immersive environment. It is a computer-generated perceptual knowledge, often through a variety of sensory modalities, such as visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory, enhances the materials that exist in the real world.

You must have heard about one of the world's leading beauty companies named coty.  Like other beauty companies, they make products like-cosmetic, skincare, fragrances, hair colour and styling.

Virtual reality

Currently, they have invented a first of its kind mirror with augmented reality technology that will help your makeup try-on experience without even applying the product on your skin.

As a shopper, when you go to a lipstick store, you want to try many different colours and shades on your skin before buying the best suitable one. This magic mirror will help the shopper by applying the chosen shade of the lipstick on their augmented live image on the mirror. In this way, traditional makeup removal experiences can be removed during a try-on.

Another brand name ModiFace also offers a similar kind of AR experience by their skin AI application, which simulates anti-ageing and skincare scenarios for beauty and medical industries. The company notes that the video app can identify and measure skin changes and predict skin lesions after the use of a skin product. The framework was designed to evaluate and quantify skin conditions including dark spots, discolours, dryness, uneven tone, and fine wrinkles with the assistance of dermatologists. Once these images have been captured, the company claims that it can simulate positive changes in the skin of the user in a video.

Like ModiFace and Coti, Perfect Corp. offers a smartphone application which allows customers to check a variety of makeup looks using augmented reality.

The company uses a combination of face detection and tracking, and live 3D Face AR for the different looks.

The user must download the software from the Apple or Google Play Store to allow machine visions algorithms to access the phone's camera to use the application.   The deeply learning facial recognition and tracking detect over 100 focal points on the face of the application user to map the makeup as the user travels.
